This illustration began with a five hour photographic bike ride from my studio located near High Park and the Humber River allllllll the way along Toronto’s lakeshore to the Beaches. As you see in the video I started the drawing working my way back home east to west. The colour is acrylic paint as usual and the whole thing took me about 30 hours over the course of a week… I loved the bike ride and the art experience. This is a document of the year 2005 but most of these landmarks are just that: long-term residents of the Toronto experience. The prints of this piece are so long that it’s divided into three pieces: a reasonable size print for the wall is about 15 feet long. Quite the panorama on my studio wall today. It’s a journey for the eyes but not much exercise for the legs 🙂
